A blog dedicated to aspiring authors and the journey 'On the Road to Publication'.
Entry for January 14, 2008

We have been like whirling dirvishes this past week.  We have our presentation folders in order for the conference and do they look good!  Since marketing seems to be such a big deal in publishing these days, we went all out.  Each folder has the book cover for the project we are pitching.  We have new updated queries, synopsi, author's bios, first 50 pages and an entire nonfiction proposal wich contains many separate pages of info, including:  cover page, overview, outline, authors bios, marketing, title analysis, first 50 pages...  It never ends!  We have, for each book, a CD with a matching book cover label in a jewel case with a mini book cover face plate with each project represented in its whole.  These are all put in each folder so that each agent and editor can see at a glance our body of work.  So watch out SDSU!

There's more, believe it or not, but I don't want to bore ya.

Needless to say we are serious about our work and out to prove it!

By the way, we have been walking around the block on days we are home to pick up the mail on foot.  I need it to keep my hyperactive brain under control.  Plus it helps us to not sit for endless hours with nothing moving but our fingers over the keyboard!

Guess I better get back to the task at hand.  We are wokring on BJ's Divine Intervention, about 1/3 of the way through!  Yeah!

Votes:  Master Plan is ahead of the pack.  We'll have a scoreboard up soon on our website along with an Authors page to link to our peers.

Thanks everybody for your support.
